Patrick D. Sarmiere, Ph.D., is the Senior Vice President of Non-clinical Research for OrphAI Therapeutics. Dr. Sarmiere holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester. Throughout his nearly 20-year career, he has overseen investigative research, pre-clinical development, and translational activities leading to candidate therapeutics that address unmet medical needs. In particular, his efforts have focused on neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative, cardiac failure, neuro-oncology, and epilepsy disorders. He has established and overseen basic research laboratories, partnered with academic collaborators, and interfaced with CROs to accomplish these goals. His contributions have been integral to the preparation for numerous INDs, NDAs, and BLAs for Acorda Therapeutics, Celgene, and most recently, Ovid Therapeutics.
